There are no subsidiary programmes in vogue in IBM. Only concession rates are made available to Mine-owners of ‘B’ category mines for taking up consultancy assignments by IBM. Similarly the Controller General, IBM shall have the discretionary power to charge 50% of that of small mines for chemical analysis to be carried out for academic and medical research in furtherance of Science and Technology and treatment of Critically needy patients.
Further for mineral development of North-Eastern Region works undertaken by IBM are available free of cost to the Mining Industry of those States.

Earlier, many information used to be held in hard copy. After installation of TMIS database, these are no more maintained in that way. Details of such information are stored in the various databases of IBM. The databases of IBM are mainly classified into two categories depending on the time of their development viz. Mineral Resources Intelligence System (MRIS) and Technical Management Information System (TMIS). The MRIS database include six database modules viz. National Mineral Inventory (NMI), Mining Lease (ML), Mines CUM Production (MCP), Mineral Consumption (MC), External Trade (ET) and World Mineral Intelligence (WMI) and ML_GIS -a Geographical Information System used for preparation of mineral maps. The TMIS is specially developed to monitor the day to day activity of the MCCM division, the back bone of the IBM as most of the activities are carried through this Division.
