Decision-making involves officers at different levels –

1. In Central Head Quarter: - Controller General, Chief Controller of Mines, Director (Ore Dressing), Controller of Mines, Chief Mineral Economist, Chief Mining Geologist, Superintending Mineral Economist (Stats.)
2. In Zonal Offices:- Controller of Mines or Officer in Charge. 
3. In Regional Offices:- Regional Controller of Mines or Officer in Charge
4. In Modern Mineral Processing Laboratory, Pilot Plant and Analytical Laboratory: - Chief Ore Dressing Officer, Superintending Officer ( Ore Dressing) or Officer in Charge.
5. In Regional Ore Dressing laboratories:- Superintending Officer (Ore Dressing) or Officer in Charge.

(vi) A statement of the categories of documents that are held by it or under its control;

Different categories of documents are statutory documents (returns, notices etc), Mining plans/Schemes/ Mine Closure Plans (MCP) etc, published /unpublished reports, confidential documents, etc.

(vii) The particulars of any arrangement that exists for consultation with, or representation by, the members of the public in relation to the formulation of its policy or implementation thereof;

 IBM ADVISORY BOARD

IBM Advisory Board was first constituted in 1981 with a view to strengthening the links between IBM and the various organizations interested in or connected with the functions of IBM and to enable Government to have objective appraisal of the effectiveness of the working of the IBM and of the ways and means by which its utility and effectiveness can be continually enhanced.

Functions of IBM Advisory Board:

• To review and advise on the programme of work during the coming years.
• To review and advise on the Annual and Five Year Plan Proposals of Indian Bureau of Mines.
• To appraise from time to time the work in different areas, done by the Indian Bureau of Mines.
• To advise on systems of management information & management accounting.
• To advise on ways and means of making Indian Bureau of Mines functioning more effective.
